The Surf House is a friendly hostel-style accommodation located in the immediate vicinity of the beach. Ideally, the house is located directly on the surfing section of the 3 km long Las Canteras beach and the surf school is also right around the corner. It is about 30 meters to the beach.

There are various dorms and double rooms. Some of the rooms have a private bathroom, others have a shared bathroom. All rooms are cosily furnished with comfortable beds and attention to detail.

In addition, the Surf House has 2 living areas with TV and 2 kitchens that you can use freely. On the roof terrace you can sit and relax in the sun on loungers.

With a beginner surf course at Surfcamp Grand Canary you are in good hands. The surf school is supported by Quiksilver and Roxy and the trained and experienced surf instructors are all certified. The following is included in the beginner surf course:

Beginner surf course basic: 169 € per person/  10 hrs

  • 5 days surf course / 10 hours per week (2 hrs per day)
  • 3x snack or smoothie at the beach café

If you have mastered the take-off and you can paddle out without any difficulties, then the intermediate surf course is right for you. The surf school is supported by Quiksilver and Roxy and the surf instructors are all certified. The following is included in the Intermediate Surf Course:

With Paragliding you float above the sea and the volcanic landscape and can watch the surfers in the water from a completely different perspective. Grand Canary is also a real paradise for climbers and with the camp's own skateboards and longboards you can cruise along the endless beach promenade and through the city or visit the skate park. If you would like to book a tour or rent a bike, simply ask the surf camp staff on site about the possible offers.

Sunset beach volleyball:
Right around the corner on the beach in Las Canteras, many young Spaniards and internationals meet in the evenings to play volleyball together. There are spotlights and nets on the beach. If you are not exhausted enough from the surf course, it is the perfect evening activity, which is ideal in the summer temperatures with the other guests and the team on site.

Las Palmas is the hot spot for all water sports. In addition to surfing, you can let off steam with windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling or on a SUP tour. Discover the breathtaking coast of Las Palmas from the water, paddle out into the sea on your Stand Up Board and enjoy the untouched nature!

The coast of Grand Canary is a real paradise for diving and snorkeling. There is a lot to discover while snorkeling, especially on the home beach of Surfcamp Grand Canary, Las Canteras. It doesn't matter whether it's a wide variety of colorful fish, corals or the reef. In the Peña la Vieja section you will probably get the most fish in front of your diving goggles.

At low tide you should definitely swim the short way out to the reef and walk along the reef to the "Ascensor", the elevator. As soon as a wave hits this circular cut-out in the reef, the water gushes up and pushes the swimmers up in it. If the wave runs down again, you sink two meters down. The whole thing is great fun and there are always a few brave people there when the tide is out.

There is always something going on in the vibrant city of Las Palmas! There are many concerts, film festivals, open air cinemas and exhibitions. At the Noche de Pinchos in the old town, locals, students and tourists meet, feast on tapas, drink wine and beer and have a good time. Every weekend, different bands play in the restaurants and cafés along the beach promenade. Simply ask your surf coaches or camp manager on site what is on offer in your week.

Talleres Palermo:
Every Wednesday we visit one of the locals' insider tips: The Talleres Palermo. The old factory building houses a unique café and co-working space during the day, which turns into a popular bar in the evening.

The delicious food is accompanied by local live music and surf movies and the inviting atmosphere is a great place to get to know the other guests over a drink or two. All surf students who have booked a course also get a free drink on Wednesday.

Self catering
You can cater for yourself in the surf house, the surf hostel and in the apartments. Kitchens are available in all accommodation and there is an international range of restaurants, numerous bars and many well-stocked supermarkets on the promenade. The local cuisine is just as appealing as the friendly and open nature of the compatriots.

Surf house
There are two well-equipped communal kitchens. Everyone gets their own boxes to store their groceries, so everyone has enough space and it stays tidy. You are welcome to organize a barbecue on the roof terrace with the other surfers or cook together. It doesn't matter whether you travel alone or with your girlfriend or boyfriend - in the Surfhouse you will quickly find new friends and meet interesting people from all over the world.

Apartments
The offered apartments also have their own kitchens where you can prepare your food. If you don't feel like cooking or want some company, the seafront's many restaurants and cafes are always a good option.

Surf Camp Grand Canary Arrivals

For those who are looking for flights themselves, Skyscanner is a good search engine to get an overview of the cities from which the relevant destinations are served. Since we do not have specific arrival/departure days in Grand Canary, you can plan your stay according to the best flight connections. Airlines that often offer good and inexpensive direct connections from Munich, for example, are Condor, Ryanair, Vueling, Lufthansa and EasyJet .

Transfer:
The Surfcamp Grand Canary team offers a transfer shuttle from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria airport to the surfcamp for only 35 € per way per car (price divided by the number of passengers). After booking, please send flight details directly to the camp director specified on the invoice. The shuttle is paid for on site.

Attention: The check-in at the surf camp is between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. If you arrive after 11 p.m., you have to book the airport shuttle (35 € one way)

Express bus:
Alternatively, you can take the express bus (approx. €3) from Las Palmas Airport to the Santa Catalina station. From there it is a 15 minute walk to the Surf Camp Grand Canary .
