Our experienced surf guides will shuttle you to the perfect waves and explain all the important details about the surf spot. Afterwards we go into the water together. Of course you can also go surfing on your own and after the session we will drive you back to the Beachfront Surf Camp Sri Lanka.

Which spot we surf with you depends on the daily conditions such as current, wave size and tide. Various boards are waiting for you at the Beachfront Surf Camp Sri Lanka, so you can save yourself the expensive transport.

Surf spots

Kathaluwa: The perfect beginner, intermediate and longboarder beach break! Right on your doorstep. Beautiful, beginner friendly waves that break cleanly, no rocks and no currents. There are right and left waves here.

south point beach: This spot is only a 5 minute walk to the right on the beach. Here too you can find many good, beginner-friendly waves.

Kabalana: This A-frame break in Ahangama works almost always. Unfortunately, for the same reason it is often overcrowded. Kabalana is just a short tuk-tuk ride from the camp. Three more spots are just 5 minutes away. with the Tuk Tuk away: Sticks, mashmellow and gas station.

Rams: In the neighboring town of Midigama is the most famous spot in the area: Rams. This right-hander barrels short and with little space for the reef. Only suitable for good surfers! 12-15min. away by tuk tuk.

Lazy Left: Also in the neighboring town you will find Lazy Left - a long, gentle wave that you can paddle out to relatively easily. With more size, this wave gets better and better. Perfect for collecting your first reefbreak experiences! Suitable for advanced surfers.

Plantations: In Midigama, this reef break offers great waves for intermediate and advanced surfers and breaks at all tides. The waves here mostly break to the right, but sometimes there are also left-hand waves - depending on the swell and the sand that is washed into the reefs. The best time to surf here is early in the morning off-shore. The break runs from 2 feet and can hold quite a bit of size.

Coconuts: In Midigama, right next to Plantations, Coconuts breaks. A fast, steep left wave. Here you have to get out quickly enough before the wave breaks onto the exposed reef. Not many people surf here because the spot is not visible from the street. Just get in the water at Plantations and paddle to the peak of Coconuts.

Weligama and Merissa:These spots are about 15 minutes away by tuk tuk and are located south of the Beachfront Surfcamp Sri Lanka. This spot works best in southwest swell. The waves here can be surfed well even at small sizes and last up to 5 feet. When the other spots in the region have blown away, you have a good chance of nice waves in Weligama, which is sheltered from the wind.
