Surf Camp Oyambre
It doesn't matter whether you come to the Surf Camp in Oyambre alone, with friends or family, we warmly welcome you and make sure that you get your money's worth.
“Playa de Oyambre” is our surfing beach, which you can reach on foot in about 10-15 minutes. During the summer months, the
North Spanish coast around Oyambre very good wave conditions for surfing beginners and advanced surfers.

Our surf camp itself consists of tipis and round tents, has a covered dining and lounge area as well as a cozy chill area with cushions, hammocks, a surf equipment tent and a yoga platform with a view of the mountains. we also have table tennis, balance trainers, skateboards and many other beach games for you.
Our camp is part of a larger campsite where other surf camps and holidaymakers also pitch their tents. The Campsite is equipped with several shower and sanitary facilities, sinks and mirrors, which are open 24 hours a day are accessible. There is also a pool and kiosk (open during high season), a small restaurant/cafe-bar with WIFI as well as a basketball court.
What is included in the package price?
In addition to 8 days / 7 nights, 6x breakfast buffet (not Saturdays) and 4x dinner (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday), the Wine & Cheese Evening (Sunday, from 9 p.m.) and free use of the surf camp and Campsite facility, this package includes our 6 session surf course (4x practical surf lesson plus 1x surf balance workshopand 1x surf theory session, 90 min. each) and the use of surfboard, leash and wetsuit during the surf lesson, as well as also 5 yoga sessions (75 minutes per session) including the use of yoga equipment. Accommodation is as standard in our round tents for 2 people with electricity and a single mattress. Available upgrades for the vacation package are: Dome Tent Private, Tipi Tent Upgrade, Tipi Tent Private, Surf Lesson Upgrade to 8 Session surf course, surf equipment rental, yoga (3 or 5 additional sessions), transfers, bed linen.
Our camp is located in the Oyambre Natural Park in Cantabria in northern Spain. The name of the coast is "Costa Verde" which means "the green coast". This is also true and the main color besides azure blue water is actually a lush green of the fields and forests. Our campsite is located in the middle of this natural landscape and offers you breathtaking views North over the sea and south over the mountains.Our surfing beach is “Playa de Oyambre” which has a bar and restaurant.San Vicente de la Barquera and Comillas are two picturesque towns which can be reached quickly by car can be reached and where there are supermarkets and other shops.
Restaurants and bars
We have a small restaurant/cafe-bar right on the campsite. A small kiosk is also available during the high season opened. There is also a restaurant at the campsite next door. Another bar and a restaurant can be found on the beach
by Oyambre.
Comillas
Comillas is a typical Spanish village very close to Oyambre (5 km) with numerous restaurants and bars. Particularly worth seeing are the old fishing port, the papal university and "El Capricho", a villa designed by artist Antoni Gaudî.
San Vicente de la Barquera
Another beautiful town worth visiting is San Vicente de la Barquera (about 6 km away). The place offers typical Spanish charm and is ideal for a small day trip.
Picos de Europa
The peaks of Europe are a well-known stone massif and are located in the oldest national park in Spain. If you like climbing or hiking, this is the place for you.
Golf
For all golf lovers there is a 9-hole golf course just opposite the campsite, from which you can cross the Cantabrian coast golf.
Sami
Sami has been running camps in France, Spain and the Canary Islands for 10 years. He always has a smile on his face and you can usually meet him on his fat bike on the way to and from the beach.
Amelie
Amelie has been a passionate surfer herself for years and has traveled all over the world. She grew up in surf camps and loves to practice yoga. As deputy camp manager, she makes sure that every guest feels comfortable.
Can be booked as a 2-person or 1-person round tent
During your time in Oyambre you will camp in our super spacious and comfortable round tents with only one other guest. All of our round tents have a center pole, mosquito net and window at the base. The tents are approx. 2.5m at the highest point and 3.5m wide. Additional comfort is provided by bed frames, sockets and fairy lights.
We also provide you with a high-quality memory foam mattress that is allergy-free, water-resistant and super comfortable. All you need to bring is a pillow, sleeping bag or bedding.

If you are traveling alone and do not want to compromise on comfort, then you can also book our round tents for one person.
Rent linen on site:
If you prefer to travel with small luggage and don't want to bring a sleeping bag or bedding to the camp, you can rent bedding and bedclothes this summer as well.

Our tipis are real eye-catchers! The cozy accommodations have windows for ventilation, a mosquito net, power sockets and storage compartments. With a ceiling height of 3 meters and a robust tarpaulin, they offer plenty of space and protection from wind and weather. Each of our tipis also has a small veranda and storage space for your surfing equipment under the tent. We provide you with a high-quality memory foam mattress that is allergy-free, water-resistant and super comfortable. All you need to bring is a pillow, sleeping bag or bedding.

Our 6-unit surf course includes: 5x 90-minute practical lessons at Playa de Oyambre and 1x 90-minute theory lesson in the camp.
The region around Oyambre offers perfect conditions for learning to surf almost every day during the summer months. In your one-week surf course we will teach you the basics of surfing. This includes a theoretical introduction and surfing in the sea. Your surf course always starts on Sunday. We meet in the morning at the surf tent, where you will receive an introduction to the surf equipment and your wetsuit. We divide all surfers into 'beginner' and 'intermediate' groups. You can find a surf course overview on our notice board at the reception. All our surf instructors have a teaching license and a lifeguard badge. The maximum group size per surf course is eight surfers. The use of the surfing equipment (surfboard, leash and wetsuit) is included in the holiday package during your surfing lessons.
We are an international surf camp and the language of instruction for the surf courses is English. We use soft top surfboards, so-called 'foamies', which are very buoyant due to a soft foam construction and make it easier to stand up on the surfboard.
If you feel like surfing more, you can add 8 units to our surf course. In addition to our 6-unit surf course, you will receive two additional 90-minute practical surf lessons. If the weather and wave conditions are suitable, these will take place at sunrise or sunset.
We are also offering surf equipment rental this summer. This includes a surfboard, leash and wetsuit during your vacation and gives you the opportunity to go surfing whenever you want. We have different sized surfboards for hire.
We recommend that all advanced surfers bring their own surfing equipment to the camp.
We start your holiday week in Oyambre with a welcome evening. After dinner, our team will introduce themselves and you will get a short intro to your vacation week. This is followed by welcome sangrias and a few fun introductory games.
Sunset Walk & Jam Sessions
Monday evening after dinner at camp we head to one of our favorite locations, a seafront bar on the coast - the perfect spot for sunset drinks. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll grab our guitars and instruments for a jam session in the camp. If you like making music, bring your instrument with you!
Quiz Night & Fiesta Fiesta
After dinner we meet for a few drinks on Wednesday nights and you can test your trivia knowledge in our pub quiz. Anyone who wants to dance can then move on to 'Fiesta Fiesta', a cool bar in Comillas.
Ping Pong Tournament & Sunset Beach Games
On Thursday evenings we challenge our guests to face our team: show us your ping-pong skills or beat our team at games on the beach!
Surf Awards & Goodbye Drinks
We celebrate your last night with our Surf Award Ceremony. After dinner, our surf team will present the coveted awards for “Best Wave” and “Best Wipeout”. We end the evening with drinks and music.
Time for you & new friends
Although there is a lot going on at camp, we want to make sure you still have time to yourself and to relax. We have hammocks and a shaded chill area with cushions to relax on. Water, tea and coffee are available all day on the Main Deck. We have our own table tennis table, a slackline to train balance and other beach games like the volleyball net.
There are two yoga sessions daily (except on Saturdays, which are the days of arrival and departure). Our professional yoga teachers ensure
that all sessions are accessible to yogis of all levels. Once a week there is also sunset yoga on the beach!
If you feel like doing more yoga, you can book 3 or 5 additional sessions.
Yoga mats can be borrowed free of charge at the surf camp.
The best extension and a good balance to surfing is definitely yoga! Every single pro surfer does this to increase their performance, strength and flexibility and speed up recovery. Besides these proven facts, it is great to keep your body and soul in balance. There is no better place to practice than in nature and once you try it on our yoga deck overlooking the mountains, you will never want to miss a yoga session again!
In fact, the melancholic sound of the raindrops can also be inspiring during a yoga session and the final meditation. Yoga always takes place twice a day. There is a weekly schedule that we post at camp. So you can always choose which times and yoga classes best suit your daily schedule.
The only day without yoga classes is Saturday as this is the changeover day. We teach yoga for all levels and while you practice at your level, our professional yoga teachers will guide you step by step to improve your performance. When the wind isn't blowing, we also offer a yoga session on the beach to greet the sun! Bring your own yoga mat or use ours at no additional charge.
Our surf course starts on Sunday. In the evening is the first East Out Night. Around 21:00 we all meet for our traditional Wine & Cheese evening. There are local wines and cheeses in good company with music. It doesn't get any better than that.
Bilbao trip:
Every Tuesday we organize a trip to Bilbao (depending on Corona rules).
Surf Movie Night:
All guests staying at the camp can look forward to a surf movie night in our outdoor cinema.
Surf Camp OyambreOnline Booking
In the morning between 9 and 11 our team prepares a delicious breakfast buffet. There is fresh coffee, various types of tea, juices, milk, cornflakes or muesli, yoghurt, jam, fresh bread, various cold cuts and fruit.
During breakfast you can also prepare your lunch box for the beach.
Please note that we do not serve breakfast on Saturdays due to the early arrival and departure of some guests. Thanks very much.
Prepare yourself some sandwiches for the surf day at the beach if you like. Please bring your own Tupperware to avoid disposable plastic bags. As surfers we try to take care of our environment as much as possible!
On four evenings our cook prepares a delicious dinner for our guests and the team. Vegetarian and vegan options are of course possible on request. If you have any allergies or food intolerances, please inform our team in advance.
Every Sunday we invite you to our traditional Wine & Cheese Evening where we taste local wines and cheeses, one of our highlights of the week.
We have 3 Eat Out nights where you can visit one of the local restaurants. There is a restaurant on our campsite as well as on the neighboring campsite. You can find more bars and restaurants on the beach and in the nearby towns of Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera.

Our camp in Oyambre is closed from 24.06. open until 16.09.2023. Arrival and departure days are always Saturdays. The camp is approximately 50 minutes from Santander Airport and approximately 1.45 hours from Bilbao Airport.

Airport transfer:
Every Saturday we organize three shuttle transfers from the camp via Santander Airport to Bilbao Airport and back. This service is performed by an external partner.

Public transportation:
From Santander Airport you can take a bus or train to Ceceño. From there you can reach the camp on foot (20 minutes) or by taxi. Travel time approx. 3 hours.
From Bilbao Airport you can take a bus to Ceceño and walk the rest of the way (20 minutes) or take a taxi. Travel time by bus approx. 4.5 hours.

The combination of travel services offered to you is a package tour within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302, and therefore you can claim all EU rights that apply to package tours. Courses are provided to the traveler as part of a group. The size of the group usually varies between 4 and 12 surfers depending on the demand. Classes are usually in German or English. Courses are limited for people with reduced mobility.

Payment: The down payment of 20% of the travel price is payable immediately and to be transferred to our account stating the invoice number, plus any immediately payable services, such as insurance, processing fees or stop and airport surcharges. The balance is to be transferred no later than 30 days before departure also under indication of the invoice number on our account. For bookings less than 4 weeks before departure, the entire amount is due immediately and send a screenshot of the transfer by e-mail to us to avoid reminder fees.
