Sunset Surf Lodge Ericeira is located in the beautiful fishing village of Ericeira, Portugal. North of Lisbon, the surfing stronghold is supplied with unique swells between spring and autumn, making it one of the top surfing spots in Europe. Our surf lodge in Ericeira is the perfect accommodation for a chilled surf holiday right on the spot. The Sunset Lodge is small, cozy and therefore very exclusive - ideal for relaxing. After a long day of perfect surf sessions, the sea view pool and garden invite you to a sundowner. Or you fancy a game of volleyball - no problem, because there is a net in the garden. The rooms in the Surflodge Ericeira are flooded with light, bright and stylishly furnished. In addition, the rooms have large windows and access to the garden and terrace.
Ericeira
You can walk to the beach in 15 minutes from the lodge. You need about 10 minutes by car to get to the heart of the fishing/surfing village. At the Sunset Lodge you can spend a chilled holiday with lots of peace and quiet and still have the opportunity to be quickly in the bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets of Ericeira. There is also the Quiksilver Boardriders Club with a large skate park in front of the door. Getting there is also quick, as Lisbon is only 45 minutes away. Incidentally, the city with that San Francisco feeling is also ideal for a trip! According to the Stormrider Guide, Ericeira is the Mecca of Portuguese surf! A comparable density of world-class surf spots is otherwise only available in Hawaii. At spots like Ribeira d'Ilhas, Coxos or Pedra Branca, surf pros as well as beginners will find the perfect waves from April to October.
Pastelerias & Restaurants
The culinary highlights in Ericeira include fresh fish and pastel de nata, a traditional Portuguese dessert. In the cafés and restaurants you should definitely let yourself be spoiled with culinary delights. Another recommendation is the restaurant A Bica. There you can get typical Portuguese food. At Bella Sombra on Foz do Lizandro Beach, chances are you'll be able to enjoy live Portuguese music.

You can work out on the volleyball field or grab skate and indo boards. Bicycles are also available for hire, so you can explore the area on your own.
Portugal Surfing
Surf Course M 10h
In Ericeira you can get surf courses that are suitable for complete beginners as well as for advanced surfers. The surf instructors will split you up according to your level so that you can surf the waves that are best for you. Usually the course takes place at the spot Ribeira d'Ilhas, which you can reach on foot. If the surf course is exceptionally at a different location, you will be shuttled there.

It is a 10 minute walk to the home surf spot. Apart from that, Ericeira is considered the surfing mecca of Portugal along with Peniche. A variety of different waves spread over just a few kilometers of coast! So every surfer will find the right waves and breaks for his level. Most of the surf spots in the fishing village of Ericeira break over rocky ground - the wind and swell hit the coast here with full force and form beautiful waves. The long right hand wave of Coxos is world famous. Likewise, the barrels of Pedra Banca, which break right next to it, are known. Ribeira d'Ilhas is the third top spot in Ericeira where all surfing desires are fulfilled. Thanks to its famous spots, Ericeira has become a surfing stronghold over the years. You can also see that in the busy cityscape, because surf shops, surf bars and skate parks adorn the village.

Yoga
There is hardly a combo that harmonises as well as yoga & surfing! The yoga class takes place on the beach or in the garden. Always in the morning or evening when the sun is already lower. Each session lasts one hour. 3 yoga sessions included, each additional hour: 10 €
Lissabon
The Portuguese capital of Lisbon is just a few kilometers from Ericeira. In the charming Hafenstatt there are beautiful, tiled buildings, delicious Portuguese food and a trip to one of the hip rooftop bars is a must!
Sintra
A trip to Sintra is ideal to take a bit of culture with you! The place has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995 and is known for its palaces, some of which have existed for many centuries.
SUP
You can not only rent surfboards, but also body or stand up paddle boards (SUP) - we recommend local event organizers who will provide you with the equipment. If you are interested, surf tours to other beaches in the area, such as Peniche or Costa da Caparica, can also be organized on site.
Sunset Surf Lodge Ericeira Catering
We care of your physical well-being, so that you can start the surf course freshly strengthened every morning.Tthe breakfast is served as a buffet with delicious fruit, yoghurt, bread, cereal, sausage & cheese and sliced vegetables. There are also juices, various teas, coffee and water. Breakfast tastes best on the sunny terrace or in the garden by the pool.
Optional dinner: You can book a rich dinner 15 € / dinner. Available on 3 nights.
It includes two traditional BBQ's and a pizza night. So you are taken care of on 3 evenings of your surf camp week. The food is freshly prepared and local products are used, vegan and vegetarian dishes are also available.
Ericeira is a cozy fishing village. Every day you get freshly caught sea creatures on your plate in the numerous restaurants and bars in the vicinity.
